Afresh Secures $115M Series B Funding to Fight Food Waste
Afresh Technologies, Inc., a San Francisco-based startup, has secured $115 million in Series B funding. This round was led by Spark Capital, with participation from several other investors, bringing the company's total funding to $148 million.
Founded in 2017 by Matt Schwartz, Nathan Fenner, and Volodymyr Kuleshov, Afresh aims to eliminate food waste and make fresh food more accessible. Their revolutionary AI-powered Fresh Operating System unifies forecasting, inventory, and store operations for grocery retailers.
The company's mission is to increase sales, empower store teams, stock fresher food, and reduce waste in the grocery industry. The fresh funds will be used to grow the team, enable further innovation, boost support functions, enhance product functionality, and expand reach beyond the U.S. All prior investors, including Maersk Growth, High Sage, and Innovation Endeavors, also participated in the round.
