AI firm Dropzone secures $37 million Series B funding for building next-gen SOC analysts
Dropzone AI, a leading AI-based cybersecurity company, has announced a successful $37 million Series B funding round. This investment will primarily be used to expand the company's market presence, accelerate the development of its AI Security Operations Center (SOC) agent technology, and strengthen strategic partnerships.
Tomasz Tunguz, General Partner at Theory, which led the funding round, stated that Dropzone AI has pulled ahead of the pack in the AI SOC market. The company's AI-based solution enhances security for over 100 enterprises, including UiPath, Zapier, and Pipe, and has been validated by some of the world's largest enterprises and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs).
Dropzone AI aims to level the playing field for cyber defenders and ensure they always outmatch the attackers. The funding will support scaling operations to meet growing demand driven by cybersecurity workforce shortages and the increasing need for AI-driven security solutions.
Key Allocation Areas
The funding will be allocated in three key areas:
- Expansion: Growing the client base beyond the current 100 enterprises, scaling operational capabilities, and broadening market reach.
- AI Agent Development: Further innovating the AI SOC agents, which integrate multi-agent AI for threat detection and incident response to augment human security teams.
- Partnerships: Strengthening collaborations with investors and industry players to fuel strategic growth and solution improvements.
Improving Cybersecurity Operations
Dropzone AI's SOC analysts deliver detailed, high-fidelity alerts within minutes. The platform autonomously investigates security alerts, significantly improving coverage and speed. This AI-native approach reduces security risks, operational costs, and analyst burnout.
Andrew Marsh, Director of Information Security at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, acknowledges Dropzone AI's exceptional threat response capabilities. CBTS utilizes Dropzone AI to offload 30-50% of its alert volume. The company's sales have taken off as they've established their position as a trusted category leader.
Shaping the Future of AI-Native Security Platforms
Edward Wu, Founder and CEO of Dropzone AI, asserts that the new funding will drive a generational shift in cybersecurity. The company has received recognition from analyst firms like Gartner and Forrester, and has been recognised in the 2025 Gartner Hype Cycle for Security Operations as a Sample Vendor for AI SOC Agents.
The new funding will also be used for developing specialized autonomous AI agents and strengthening ecosystem partnerships and technical integrations. Theory Ventures, Madrona, Decibel Ventures, Pioneer Square Labs, and IQT participated in the funding round.
This investment aligns with industry trends recognizing AI solutions as fundamental to addressing cybersecurity staffing shortages and alert fatigue, as reflected in Gartner research predicting substantial growth in multiagent AI adoption for security operations. Dropzone AI plans to continue shaping the future of AI-native security platforms.
