Amazon Unveils Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio Smart Speakers
Amazon has unveiled two new Echo smart speakers, the Echo Dot HBO Max and the Echo Studio. The Echo Dot HBO Max is priced at $99.99 / £99.99, while the Echo Studio is available for $219.99 / £219.99. Both devices feature a spherical design with a control panel on the front.
The Echo Dot HBO Max, powered by Amazon's AZ3 chip, boasts improved microphones and triple the sound performance of its predecessors. It was launched at Amazon's fall 2025 hardware event and is already available in the market.
The Echo Studio, Amazon's most advanced speaker to date, supports spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. It features a custom woofer for deep bass and is driven by the AZ3 Pro chip, an upgrade from the AZ3 chip in the Echo Dot HBO Max. The official release date for the Echo Studio is October 29, 2025.
Preorders for both the Echo Dot HBO Max and the Echo Studio start on Tuesday, 30 September, with shipping commencing on 29 October. Amazon has positioned these new speakers to enhance the smart home audio experience, with the Echo Studio targeting audiophiles and the Echo Dot HBO Max catering to budget-conscious consumers.
