Amazon's Alexa+ Revolutionizes Voice Assistance with Advanced AI
Amazon is set to revolutionize voice assistance with Alexa+, a subscription service that understands complex queries and responds intuitively. The improved AI will initially launch in the USA this spring, with a European release planned but not yet dated.
Alexa+ brings advanced features like finding specific scenes in movies or suggesting content based on current viewing. It's a subscription service, costing $19.99 per month in the US, with no additional charge for Prime members.
Users can program smart home routines using natural language, such as turning off lights when pressing a remote control button. Amazon plans to integrate Alexa+ into all new products, working more in the background and using natural language operation.
Ambient AI in Alexa+ allows it to recognize faces and situations, greeting known faces at the door or reminding users of tasks based on their location. Amazon has also introduced new hardware designed specifically for Alexa+ in 2025.
Alexa+ is expected to attract new users who were previously uninterested in voice control. Amazon officially launched Alexa+ in the US with new features and beta testing in spring 2025, following its 'Early Access' release in late 2023. The revamped version of Alexa can handle longer conversations and understand natural language better, marking a significant step forward in voice assistance.
