The latest update to the AI system Gemini Live, developed by Android, brings a host of improvements, making it a smarter, privacy-conscious assistant that deeply integrates with Google Calendar, Maps, Tasks, and Keep.

With this update, Gemini Live now shows visual app control with a small icon at the bottom indicating the name of the app being used. A circular loading indicator is also present around the icon, providing a smoother user experience.

One of the key new features is enhanced conversational AI that can follow along with your context across apps like Calendar and Maps, enabling proactive suggestions or actions based on your plans and locations. For example, when viewing a calendar event involving travel, Gemini can assist by providing location-based tips or reminders.

Temporary Chats and personalized responses have been introduced, referencing your past activity and preferences across Google services, making assistant responses more tailored and contextually relevant without impacting your privacy or history.

File uploads and large context windows are now available, allowing Gemini to utilize these inputs when assisting with tasks or event planning. Multi-modal interaction has been introduced, where you can share a live camera view or images with Gemini Live to receive contextual advice.

Integration with task management tools like Google Tasks and Keep has been improved, helping create, update, and organize reminders and to-do lists dynamically through conversational AI commands, enhancing productivity and study assistance abilities.

The update to Gemini Live also includes an "Undo" button for edits made with touch controls, in addition to voice commands. The update is rolling out to more devices each day and is currently available on both Android and iOS devices.

If you use Google Calendar, Google Tasks, Google Maps, or Google Keep, the update to Gemini Live could make it a helpful single point of control for managing these apps. Gemini Live was initially launched on Android and iOS in June and does not include advertisements.

Users can specify which of the four Google apps Gemini Live should interact with directly, using voice commands like "Use Google Maps to direct me to..." or "Note this down in Keep...". To stay updated on smarter living, tech, home, and active products, users can sign up for the newsletter on the website.

In summary, the latest Google Gemini Live update makes it a smarter, privacy-conscious assistant that deeply integrates with Calendar, Maps, Tasks, and Keep, providing real-time, personalized, and multi-modal help for scheduling, navigation, task management, and note-taking on Android and iOS devices.
