Announcement of Sinus Award 2019 Winners
In a celebration of outstanding audiovisual integration projects, the Prolight + Sound 2019 Sinus-System Integration Awards recognised two remarkable winners in the Control Room and Corporate categories.
The Control Room category was awarded to the GEO Mission Control Centre from EUMETSAT, located in Darmstadt, Germany. This cutting-edge control room, known as Europe's most modern control room for satellite control, underwent a transformation in 2018, converting its media technology to an IP-based signal distribution system. The renewed media technology in the GEO MCC includes three large video walls and a complete distribution of video and audio signals via a central network.
The client for this winning project is EUMETSAT (European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites), based in Darmstadt. The GEO MCC operates weather satellites that transmit images for weather observation and forecasting. The KVM Control in the GEO MCC is managed via an AMX-NX system and AMX touch panels.
Meanwhile, in the Corporate category, the honour went to Merck in Darmstadt for their Inspiration Wall. This room-filling kinetic installation, located within the Merck Innovation Center, extends nearly 18 meters and consists of 24 rows with three monitors each, which can be moved vertically individually. The Inspiration Wall was executed by a team of experts, including eyevis GmbH, ART+COM Studios, medienprojekt P2, MKT-AG, schnellebuntebilder, Welco AG, and SWiCA Conference Technology.
Merck's Inspiration Wall, a project client of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, won an award at Prolight + Sound 2019, adding another feather to its cap. The choreography of the Inspiration Wall evolves from the dynamic interaction of the physical movement of the monitors and the virtual movement of the images.

These wins highlight the innovative strides being made in audiovisual integration, particularly in the Control Room and Corporate sectors.
