The tech world is abuzz with anticipation as Apple prepares to unveil its latest offering on February 19, 2025. According to the latest leaks and rumours, the product in question is most likely the new iPhone SE, also referred to as the iPhone 16E in some speculation.

This device is expected to feature a much larger 6.1-inch OLED display, a shift from the 4.7-inch display of its predecessors. The iPhone 16E is also rumoured to include Face ID, with the removal of the Home button, USB-C and MagSafe support, and the Apple A18 chip, offering access to the latest Apple AI features.

The iPhone 16E, if it exists, would provide a more consistent, budget-conscious, mid-range release for iPhone users to look forward to. This new annual model would give Apple a second iPhone launch window beyond its typical September showcase.

If the iPhone 16E is indeed the product to be unveiled, it would fit the bill more closely as the "newest member of the family" mentioned by Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, in his recent social media post. However, there is a strong possibility that the product could be a new HomePod device or the MacBook Air M4.

The exact identity of the "newest member of the family" is currently uncertain. Regardless, Apple's official product launch is scheduled for Wednesday, with further reveals expected to be spread out across the coming months.

Tim Cook has been instrumental in building up the hype for the new iPhone, posting on social media last week to get the "hype train rolling". There are also reports suggesting that Apple plans to add certain features to sell more Vision Pros.

The iPhone SE has been part of the iPhone family since 2016. If the iPhone 16E is unveiled, it may mark the effective retirement of the SE line of smartphones, as the iPhone 16E would introduce an affordable mid-range option to follow Apple's annual iPhone releases.

In the meantime, the tech community eagerly awaits the official announcement on February 19. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the event.
