Apple Stores Tackle iPhone 17 Scratch Issue With MagSafe Stand Fixes
Apple Stores are implementing measures to safeguard the new iPhone 17 series from scratches and spots. The tech giant has identified worn-out MagSafe stands as a culprit and is addressing the issue in stores.
Apple Stores are taking two-pronged approach to protect iPhone 17 series displays. Firstly, they are replacing old MagSafe stands that cause scratches due to material transfer. Secondly, they are adding silicone rings around the edges of MagSafe stands to prevent further damage.
In addition, Apple Store employees are now cleaning the backs of demo devices regularly using a mixture of a normal cleaning agent and salt. This solution is also effective in removing existing scratches from the iPhone 17. Apple confirms that the problem is not actual scratches but a result of material transfer from the MagSafe stand. The iPhone 16 series is also affected by this issue.
Apple Stores are actively addressing the MagSafe stand issue affecting iPhone 17 and iPhone 16 series. They are replacing worn-out stands, adding protective silicone rings, and regularly cleaning demo devices. Apple Store technicians will handle the repair or cleaning of MagSafe stands causing marks on iPhone 17 series directly in stores.
