Apple TV App Expands to Samsung, VIZIO, LG, and Sony TVs, AirPlay 2 & HomeKit Coming Soon

Apple has expanded its TV app's reach, making it available on all 2019 Samsung smart TVs and select 2018 models, starting today. Additionally, the service will arrive on VIZIO, LG, and Sony smart TVs later this year, with AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support.

The Apple TV app, now accessible in over 100 countries with iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3, offers a unified home for users' favourite movies, TV shows, and original content. This autumn, Apple TV+, the company's original video subscription service, will join the app.

Meanwhile, Samsung users can now enjoy seamless content sharing from their iPhone, iPad, or Mac to their smart TVs, thanks to AirPlay 2 support. More TV brands will follow suit later this year, enhancing the Apple ecosystem's compatibility.

The Apple TV app's expansion to more smart TVs, along with the upcoming arrival of Apple TV+, strengthens Apple's position in the streaming market. Users can now access a wide range of content across various devices and platforms.
