Apple's Big Update Day: Security Patches for MacOS, iOS, and watchOS
Apple has rolled out updates across its ecosystem to address security vulnerabilities and bugs. MacOS has received a new version, while iOS and watchOS have been updated to fix issues and improve performance.
MacOS Tahoe 26.0.1 is out, patching a memory overflow vulnerability (CVE-2025-43400) caused by malicious fonts. Meanwhile, iOS 26.0.1 has been released to fix problems with app icons displaying empty after applying custom color tones and VoiceOver being disabled. The update is 604 MB and requires at least an A13 chip or newer for iPhone models. Unfortunately, iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max do not support iOS 26.
watchOS 26.0.2 has been rolled out to Apple Watch SE 2 and newer, Apple Watch Series 6 and newer, and all Apple Watch Ultra models. Additionally, iOS 18.7.1 is available for iPhone XS and newer, iPad Pro models, iPad Air, iPad, and iPad mini to address the same memory overflow vulnerability found in MacOS.
Apple's updates aim to enhance user experience and security. MacOS users should update to Tahoe 26.0.1 for security, while iOS and watchOS users should update to the latest versions for bug fixes and improved performance.
