Asian Drone Producer Places $4.5 Million Order for Superior Silicon Battery Tech from NEO Battery Company
NEO Battery Materials Ltd., a leading innovator in battery technology, has announced a significant milestone in its partnership with NainTech, a South Korean company specializing in batteries and advanced materials. The collaboration, under a Joint Development Agreement (JDA), is worth a total of CAD 4.5 million and focuses on co-developing energy storage and high-performance drone batteries using silicon anode products enhanced with proprietary MXene additives.
Under the terms of the agreement, NEO Battery will supply two advanced silicon-enhanced battery products designed for drone and UAV systems. These battery products will be utilised in the operations of both military and civilian entities across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.
The first product, incorporating the P-200 silicon anode series, is specifically designed for short-duration, combat drone missions. The second product, leveraging the P-300N silicon series, will cater to industrial and surveillance UAVs, offering extended flight-time and heavier payload capacities.
NEO's battery solutions will provide robust capacity retention, safety, and high energy density exceeding 350 Wh/kg. This superior performance is made possible by the addition of MXene additives, which improve conductivity and performance.
In addition to supplying the batteries, NEO will also perform system-level integration and conduct advanced field trials for commercial deployment. The customer, NainTech, will be responsible for integrating NEO's silicon battery products into drone and UAV systems destined for APAC industrial companies and governmental agencies.
Revenues from this partnership are expected upon the completion of agreed JDA objectives and the delivery of commercial battery products. This deal marks a significant step forward for NEO Battery, as it expands its presence in the drone and UAV market and continues to demonstrate the potential of its innovative battery technology.
This partnership is set to revolutionise the drone and UAV industry in the APAC region, offering improved performance, safety, and energy efficiency. With the successful integration of NEO's silicon battery products, drones and UAVs will be able to perform more complex missions for longer periods, opening up a world of possibilities for various industries and governmental agencies.
