ASUS ROG & Xbox Unveil Ally X: SanDisk Offers Official Storage Solutions
ASUS ROG, in collaboration with Xbox, is set to release the Xbox Ally X, a high-end handheld gaming PC. SanDisk is offering 'officially licensed' and 'exclusive' storage solutions for this device, including SSDs and microSD cards under the WD_BLACK subbrand and featuring Xbox logos.
The Xbox Ally X, an enhanced version of the ROG Ally, boasts an ergonomic design reminiscent of an Xbox Series X|S controller. It's not the first to use microSD Express technology, but SanDisk's straightforward branding helps casual buyers make informed choices.
SanDisk's offerings include the WD_BLACK SN7100X NVMe SSD, a standard M.2-2280 SSD matching the specs of the existing WD_BLACK SN7100 PCIe Gen 4 drive. For microSD cards, the SANDISK microSD Card for ROG Xbox Ally (X) promises 'up to 200MB/s read speeds' and requires compatible devices with Sandank 'QuickFlow' support for speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s. The microSD cards come in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities, while the SSDs are available in 2TB and 4TB. Prices range from $69.99 to $299.99.
The Xbox Ally X offers a fair price tag, and the availability of compatible SSDs and microSD cards ensures future upgrade options. Users can choose to rely solely on the internal storage if they prefer, without needing a microSD card.
The upcoming Xbox Ally X, built by ASUS ROG in partnership with Xbox, benefits from SanDisk's officially licensed and exclusive storage solutions. With a range of capacities and competitive pricing, these storage options cater to various user needs, enhancing the Xbox Ally X's appeal.
