Atom Bank Announces New Technology Leadership Team

UK-based Atom Bank, currently the top-rated bank on Trustpilot, has announced a restructuring of its technology senior leadership team, aiming to accelerate product launches and enhance delivery capabilities, particularly in expanding its savings franchise.

The new structure includes nine internal promotions, reflecting the bank's commitment to nurturing talent.

Three value stream-aligned roles have been created, each with direct accountability for product delivery. Ges Richmond has been appointed as Head of Lending Delivery, Orla Codyre as Head of Savings Delivery, and Kath Langlands as Head of Platform and Enterprise Delivery.

Complementing these are senior technology leadership roles aimed at improving execution standards and team effectiveness. Rob Smith has been appointed as Head of Engineering, Rob Butcher as Head of Architecture, Faizah Rafique as Head of Business Analysis, and James Kerruish as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of Service.

Leanne Judge has been appointed as Chief of Staff, with the focus on improving the effectiveness and alignment of the entire Technology organization at Atom Bank. Russell Collingham now leads a newly formed AI and Data Science team.

James Kerruish, in his new role as CISO and Head of Service, will be responsible for cyber security, safe change implementation, incident management, and the service desk, which is the central hub for technical support. His team spans across all disciplines and delivery roles.

The appointments are part of significant investment across the business to ensure the right tools and resources are allocated for rapid growth, building on a 25% increase in change velocity last year.

The reorganization is intended to increase the velocity of change and product development, leveraging the collective expertise of the team to support Atom Bank's business growth and technology investments, especially supporting the bank's strategy to accelerate delivery and rollout of new savings products.

Russell Collingham, who leads the AI and Data Science team, will continue his focus on developing and deploying AI across the bank.

The appointments are part of a series of strategic changes and promotions aimed at accelerating product launches and enhancing delivery capabilities.
