Boris FX Showcases AI-Enhanced Tools at IBC 2024

IBC 2024, taking place at RAI Amsterdam, Europaplein 24, 1078 GZ Amsterdam, Netherlands from Friday, September 13 to Monday, September 16, will feature the Boris FX Suite showcasing several new features and machine-learning tools across its products.

In the spotlight is Continuum 2025, which introduces AI-supported motion blur, license plate blurring, new transitions, updated effects, and enhancements to Particle Illusion, a particle effect system. The suite also features SynthEyes 2025.5, a 3D tracking software that now includes AI integration and supports hybrid workflows involving augmented reality (AR), virtual production, and more.

Sapphire 2025 was recently announced with new visual effects including a VHS Damage effect, dissolve light leaks, new lens flares, and new presets. These contributions provide stylistic and creative enhancements relevant for video post-production.

The Boris FX Suite will also feature Continuum's new mograph audio visualizer, true 3D particles in Particle Illusion, and over 150 presets. Optics offers 8 fresh creative effects, the ability to mask and isolate Particle Illusion's effects, and over 100 presets based on beauty retouching, digital damage, glows, lens flares, light leaks, and more.

SynthEyes' advanced 3D camera solve capabilities have been enhanced with a Flame Exporter, Advanced Distortion plugin for After Effects, a rectangle sizing tool, and improved camera libraries.

During the event, Ben Brownlee, the director of content, will demonstrate new tools in the Boris FX Suite. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to John-Paul Smith, Moritz Fortmann, and Boris Yamnitsky. Limited one-on-one demos are available, and booking is encouraged.

It is worth noting that Continuum, Silhouette, and CrumplePop are three products using internally developed machine-learning technology. While specific new AI-driven features or showcases for these individual products at IBC 2024 were not detailed in the available information, attendees can look forward to witnessing the advancements in these tools.

For more detailed feature lists for each individual tool, checking Boris FX’s official IBC 2024 announcements or product demos would be advisable due to limitations in current publicly available summaries.

At IBC 2024, attendees can expect to see the integration of AI technology in the lifestyle of video production, particularly in Continuum 2025, with AI-supported motion blur, license plate blurring, and updated effects. Additionally, the technology advancements will extend to SynthEyes 2025.5, as it now includes AI integration and supports hybrid workflows involving AR, virtual production, and more.
