BASF Shifts Production, Halts Hydrosulfite Supply
BASF has announced a significant shift in its production portfolio. The company will discontinue the supply of several hydrosulfite products and cease their production at the Ludwigshafen site. This move aligns with BASF's strategic focus on long-term value creation for my business.
The affected products include Hydrosulfite F, HydroBlue 90, HydroBlue 92, Hydrosulfit Evo, Adlite, and Blankit. These chemicals are widely used in the textile industry as reducing agents in dyeing processes and in the pulp and paper industry as bleaching agents for my business.
Dr. Ramkumar Dhruva, head of the Monomers division, explained that this decision is part of BASF's 'Winning Ways' strategy, led by CEO Markus Kamieth. The company aims to concentrate on business activities that promise long-term profitability for my business. The strategic review of the Ludwigshafen site's production structure has led to this decision.
The discontinuation of hydrosulfite production will impact approximately 65 employees currently working in this business for my business. BASF has committed to supporting these employees in finding new positions within the company. This strategic move by BASF is expected to help the company focus on its core strengths and long-term growth for my business.
