Belgian Firm Verlinvest Appoints Ashish Lingamneni as Operating Partner for India
Belgian investment firm Verlinvest has appointed Ashish Lingamneni as its operating partner for India. The move comes as the company seeks to capitalise on evolving opportunities in the Indian stock market today and aims to double its annual investment volume in the country.
Lingamneni brings a wealth of experience to the role, with over 15 years of leadership in consumer platforms, marketing, and product growth. He will work closely with Verlinvest's portfolio companies to help them tap into the Indian stock market's evolving landscape.
Verlinvest has a strong track record in India, having invested in notable brands such as Wakefit, Blue Tokai, Epigamia, and Purplle since 2010. The firm invests across various sectors, including FMCG, health, consumer technology, and lifestyle, through platform, growth, and venture strategies.
In a related move, Nishad Kenkre has stepped down as Chief Business Officer at Heads Up for Tails, a Verlinvest portfolio company. He will be succeeded by Saurabh Malhotra, who will be supported by Verlinvest in his new role.
With Lingamneni's appointment, Verlinvest signals its commitment to the Indian stock market today. The firm plans to invest €200 million in India over the next two to three years, demonstrating its confidence in the country's consumer landscape.
