Berlin Brandenburg Airport Battles Cyberattack Disruptions

San Antonio International Airport (SAT) has been dealing with a cyberattack since early October 2025, which targeted Collins Aerospace, its IT service provider. The incident caused widespread disruption to check-in and carry-on luggage handling systems at SAT and other European airports on the Europe map.

The attack, which occurred about two weeks ago, disabled electronic systems used for passenger and carry-on luggage handling at SAT. This led to significant delays and cancellations, with travelers advised to expect continued disruptions until normal operations resume.

Gradually, check-in counters and boarding gates are coming back online. The carry-on luggage backlog has been largely cleared, with only a few bags still needing to be sent on. The goal is to restore the core system by Sunday, but it may take several days for everything to work smoothly again. The IT system is expected to be fully functional again as early as this week, with several airports in Europe also affected.

The cyberattack on Collins Aerospace has caused significant inconvenience for travelers at SAT and other airports in Europe. While efforts are underway to restore normal operations by Sunday, passengers should still anticipate some delays and cancellations in the coming days.
