Binance, the global cryptocurrency exchange, has launched a new product called RWUSD through its Binance Earn platform. This principal-protected yield product offers users a way to earn stable, market-competitive returns benchmarked against real-world assets (RWAs) such as tokenized U.S. Treasury bills.

Users can subscribe to RWUSD using Tether USDT or Circle USDC, converting these stablecoins into RWUSD at a 1:1 ratio within Binance’s ecosystem. The key features of RWUSD include principal protection with flexible subscription terms, daily accrual of rewards paid in RWUSD, an annualized yield of up to 4.2%, and redemption options allowing instant or delayed conversion back to USDC.

Unlike a stablecoin, security, fund, tokenized RWA, or on-chain asset, RWUSD is a non-transferable, non-tradable, and closed-loop product within Binance’s platform. It serves as a ledger entry evidencing the user’s subscription and accrued rewards, managed internally by Binance. RWUSD cannot be traded, transferred to another user's account, or withdrawn on-chain to a DeFi wallet such as Binance Wallet.

The yield of RWUSD is linked to the performance of Binance’s portfolio of tokenized real-world assets, primarily low-risk tokenized U.S. Treasury bills. However, RWUSD itself does not represent ownership of those tokenized assets.

Binance believes that the growth and increased participation from major industry players will come to the RWA tokenization market with clearer crypto regulations. This belief is supported by Binance Research, which reported a significant increase of 260% in the RWA tokenization niche during the first half of this year, taking the market from $8.6 billion at the beginning of the year to $23 billion during the first half of 2025.

Binance has already reached 280 million users and has set a goal to reach 1 billion users. The improved regulatory framework around cryptocurrency could be acknowledged for the rally in the tokenization niche.

Once subscribed, the same amount of RWUSD in users' Spot Account will be transferred to their wallet at a 1:1 ratio. Users can invest up to $5 million and still receive the same flat APR. Users have the option to choose between Fast Redemption or Standard Redemption for RWUSD, with applicable fees in both cases. The redemption of RWUSD to USDC will occur at a 1:1 ratio, regardless of the initial subscribed assets.

Moreover, RWUSD held in a user's Spot Account can serve as collateral for the Binance VIP Loan without affecting its ability to generate yield. The same flat APR rate applies across the entire deposit subscription, eliminating tiered rates or reductions.

In summary, RWUSD functions as a Binance-managed yield product offering exposure to real-world financial asset returns through a crypto-native wrapper, without the legal or on-chain characteristics of a token or security. It aims to bridge traditional finance returns with crypto investors seeking relatively stable income within Binance’s ecosystem.
