Breitling collaborates with Martini Racing to produce allegedly the most vintage Top Time Chronograph watches
Breitling has unveiled a fresh collection of three watches under the Top Time series, featuring retro-style cushion cases and a nod to Martini Racing. Unlike previous Top Time chronographs, these new timepieces are time-and-date versions, marking a departure from the traditional chronograph functionality.
The new Top Time watches boast a 38mm cushion-shaped steel case, making them smaller than their B01-powered predecessors. The non-chrono B31, which debuted last week, shares the same 38mm case diameter. The shrinkage in size is possible due to the elimination of the common third register.
Each watch in the collection is limited to 750 units, and they come with a leather strap in blue, green, or tan. The Martini Racing watch is paired with a matching blue leather strap, with the minute track around the dial and the center patch's vertical stripe pattern also adorned in dark blue.
In addition to the Martini Racing watch, there are two other rally-inspired variants. One features a green dial and matching green leather strap, while another sports a black dial and tan leather strap.
The new Top Time watches are powered by the Breitling B01 automatic chronograph movement and are 13.3mm thick, 3mm thicker than the previous models. They also have a lug-to-lug of 44.1mm, smaller than the previous models.
Breitling doesn't exclusively partner with any specific auto brand, allowing the Top Time series to team up with various companies. In the past, Breitling has collaborated with companies like Chevy, Deus, Ford, and Shelby on chronographs inspired by classic nameplates.
The Top Time series has a cult following among Breitling's watch offerings. The new Top Time watches are set to drop on April 11 for $7,700.
