Broadcasting venture fully adopts virtual technology through WorldCast integration
100% Radio Transforms Broadcasting with WorldCast Systems' Virtualized MPX over IP Solution
100% Radio, the French network broadcasting contemporary hits with regionally focused content, has adopted a revolutionary approach to its broadcasting infrastructure. The network has implemented a virtualized MPX over IP transport solution using WorldCast Systems' software-defined architecture, powered by APT IP codecs and APTmpX technology [1].
This innovative solution centralizes audio processing in the studio using Omnia.9 software processors. The MPX outputs are routed directly to virtual APT IP codecs hosted in a containerized environment. The virtual codecs compress and transport MPX streams using the efficient APTmpX algorithm, ensuring consistency in audio quality, reduced bandwidth usage, and improved reliability [1].
For legacy transmitters, MPX over IP streams are decoded by APT Silver Decoders feeding analog MPX inputs. More recent sites, however, have transitioned to WorldCast Systems' Ecreso FM AiO Series transmitters, which integrate the APT IP decoder directly as software, further simplifying infrastructure. The entire setup is monitored centrally via WorldCast's Kybio platform [1].
The resilience within the APTmpX algorithm has been highlighted as a key factor in the network's setup. APT SureStream's built-in redundancy effectively mitigates packet loss, enhancing resilience even over a single IP path. This, along with the robustness of the APTmpX codec, contributes to significant improvements in reliability [1].
With this new setup, 100% Radio has managed to simplify its infrastructure, future-proof its operations, and maintain high-quality broadcasting without compromise. The network plans to continue expanding throughout the country with its current setup.

Previously, the network operated with 16 separate program feeds across 50 FM frequencies and 16 DAB+ frequencies. The network struggled to guarantee consistent audio quality across its locations and faced challenges in scaling efficiently due to hardware-heavy infrastructure [2].
Each feed required dedicated audio processors at multiple locations, leading to complex and costly maintenance. The new setup centralizes audio processing, eliminating the need for multiple processors at each site [1].
The network believes that this virtualized MPX over IP transport system provides a centralized, bandwidth-efficient, and resilient broadcast transport system that delivers consistent audio quality and high reliability while simplifying network infrastructure [1].
