Building Industry Professionals Invited to Submit Applications for the Green BIM Award 2022

The Green BIM Awards, a renowned event recognizing excellence in sustainable construction, is set to return this year as part of the BIM-TAGE Deutschland (BTD) event. Organized by the architecture and planning firm ATP, which received the award in 2022 for developing a CO2 tool to calculate embodied emissions, the Green BIM Awards are open to companies, administrations, and institutions based or operating in Germany.

The German Sustainable Building Council holds the patronage for the awards, and this year's event will take place from September 16 to 20, 2022, at the Allianz Forum in Berlin. Submissions for the awards are open until July 15, 2022, and interested parties can apply online, although a fee of 490 euros will be charged for each application.

There are three categories for submissions: realized projects in new construction or renovation, innovative tools and products, and research, development, and new concepts. To increase their chances of success, applicants are encouraged to consider approaches such as waste reduction, material reduction, reuse, integration of digital methods, degree of innovation, scalability, role model character, and CO2 savings.

The jury, consisting of eleven esteemed professionals, will select three nominees for each of the three main categories after the submission deadline. The jury includes Annelie Casper, GEFMA chairwoman, Thomas Kirmayr, head of Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Planen und Bauen, Matthias Mosig, head of Digital Transformation at TÜV Süd, Carl von Stechow, chairman of the German PropTech Initiative, and Martin Gräber from Forum Zeitschriften and Special Media, among others.

The Green BIM Awards will be held as part of the BIM-Tage Deutschland (BTD), which is also hosting the BIM-Tage Deutschland event. Day 1 of the event serves as a warm-up, Day 2 offers the BIM Annual Congress and the BIM Gala Night, and Day 3 is titled "Building-Life Digital". The public can vote for the Green BIM Awards via online voting on the first day of the BIM-Tage Deutschland, September 16.

The nominees and winners will be honoured at the BIM-Gala on September 19 at the Allianz-Forum at the Brandenburg Gate. ATP, a pioneer in digital integrated planning and sustainability in construction, is a shining example of the innovative work being done in the field.

The Green BIM Awards are a testament to Germany's commitment to sustainable construction and digital innovation, and they provide a platform for companies, administrations, and institutions to showcase their achievements and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
