BYD Launches Seal 6 DM-i Touring Plug-in Hybrid Station Wagon in Germany
BYD, a Chinese automaker, has launched the Seal 6 DM-i Touring, a plug-in hybrid station wagon, in Germany. The vehicle showcases BYD's 'electro first' approach, prioritizing electric motor power with gasoline engine support. It's available now, with prices starting at 42,990 euros.
The Seal 6 DM-i Touring boasts a spacious interior with quality materials and a versatile trunk capacity ranging from 675 to 1,535 liters. It offers impressive performance, accelerating from 0 to 120 km/h in 8.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 180 km/h, and averaging 1.7 liters per 100 km fuel consumption. The Boost version provides a 50 km electric range and 135 kW/184 PS system power.
BYD is expanding its German network, aiming for 120 active dealers by 2025 and around 300 by 2026. The Seal 6 DM-i Touring, with a 100 km plug-in hybrid range and a total range of up to 1,350 km, caters to German customers' preference for station wagons. The top Comfort version starts at 49,990 euros, with a Comfort-Lite version available for 1,000 euros less.
BYD's Seal 6 DM-i Touring offers a compelling blend of electric and gasoline power, spacious design, and competitive pricing. Despite selling only 8,412 units by August 2023, BYD is optimistic about reaching its 2025 target of 50,000 vehicle sales in Germany, backed by its expanding dealer network.
