Casio Marks 50 Years in Watchmaking with 'From Zero to One' Collection
Casio celebrates its 50th anniversary in watchmaking with a special 'From Zero to One' collection. The standout piece, the Casiotron, is a classy limited edition in black and gold, priced at $600 and set for release this month.
The new Casiotron, model TRN50ZE-1A, pays homage to Casio's first digital watch with an automatic calendar, released in 1974. The original cost around $369, equivalent to over $2,000 today adjusted for inflation.
The anniversary edition features a gold bezel and caseback pattern symbolising 'making something from nothing'. It's powered by a Tough Solar movement and has 50m of water resistance. With a case size of 42.7mm x 39.1mm and a thickness of 12.3mm, it's a stylish addition to Casio's budget-friendly offerings.
The 'From Zero to One' Casiotron is a fitting tribute to Casio's history and a testament to their continued innovation. Despite Casio's reputation as a budget watchmaker, this limited edition offers a touch of luxury at an affordable price.
