Chinese GPU, Lisuan G100, demonstrates potential, surpassing Arc A770 and RTX 4060 in OpenCL benchmark, yet trails behind RTX 5060 by 10%
Lisuan Technology's New G100 Graphics Card Shows Promising Performance
In a significant development for the graphics card market, Chinese tech firm Lisuan Technology has tested a new variant of its G100 graphics card. Preliminary benchmark data suggest that the G100 is now competitive against popular modern mainstream GPUs.
According to the latest tests, the G100 outperforms Nvidia's RTX 4060 in OpenCL tests, scoring around 111,000 points compared to the RTX 4060's approximately 101,000 points. It also marginally exceeds Intel's Arc A770 by about 2%. However, it remains roughly 10% slower than the upcoming Nvidia RTX 5060, which scores about 121,000 points in similar benchmarks.
Key technical features of the new G100 variant include a 6nm manufacturing process, 12GB GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit bus, 192 Texture Mapping Units (TMUs), 96 Render Output Units (ROPs), and a 2000 MHz maximum GPU clock speed. The card supports modern APIs such as DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.3, and OpenGL 4.6 and offers outputs capable of 8K resolution at 60Hz with HDR and FreeSync support.
Earlier versions of the G100 showed only modest performance, comparable to a decade-old Nvidia GTX 660 Ti. However, recent advancements in driver optimization and firmware have significantly enhanced its capabilities, marking a notable leap in Chinese GPU technology.
Lisuan Technology will host a product launch tomorrow, providing more information on the G100. With its competitive performance and promising features, the new G100 variant could potentially rival some of the best graphics cards in the market.
