Compact yet Powerful: Geekom's IT15 AI is a Mini PC Based on Core Ultra 2 Architecture

The Geekom IT15 AI Mini PC, a compact powerhouse, showcases impressive performance with its Intel Core Ultra 9-285H (Arrow Lake generation) processor. This chip, featuring 16 cores (6 Performance cores and 10 Efficiency cores), can reach up to 5.4 GHz, providing a solid foundation for creative tasks such as 4K video editing, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and Lightroom.

The IT15 also boasts an integrated Intel Arc 140T GPU, supporting ray tracing, AI acceleration (XMX units), and XeSS, which can boost gaming/frame rates by up to 62% in certain titles. However, it's worth noting that the NPU is rated at 13 TOPS, slightly less powerful than the one found in Lunar Lake chips.

In terms of connectivity, the Geekom IT15 offers a variety of I/O ports, including two USB-C ports (one of which supports Power Delivery), HDMI 2.1 video outputs, USB-A ports, a 2.5GbE RJ-45 jack, and an SD 4.0 memory card slot. It also comes with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for seamless wireless connectivity.

The IT15's cooling system, while quiet, struggles under heavy load, with the core temperature peaking at 90 degrees, which in turn limits CPU utilization to 40%. Despite this, the IT15 excels in benchmark tests, scoring 7,450 points in the PCMark 10 benchmark, outperforming the Geekmon A5, Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 4 Tiny, and the Beelink box in the test.

In the SPECviewperf 3dsmax 3D modelling benchmark, the IT15 ran at an impressive 29fps, twice as fast as the Irix Xe iGPU that comes with Intel’s Meteor Lake chipsets. In the Cinebench R23 multi-core test, the IT15 scored 15,524 points, surpassing the Beelink box's score but slightly lower than Lenovo's and the Geekmon Mini IT13's scores.

The Geekom IT15 comes with a 2TB Crucial SSD, delivering impressive sequential read and write speeds of 5,211MB/s and 4,409MB/s, respectively. The IT15 is available on Amazon in two versions. One version is based on the Core Ultra 5 225H CPU and comes with a 1TB SSD, priced at £687 inc VAT (£572 ex VAT) or $679. The other, priced at £845 inc VAT (£704 ex VAT) or $949, is based on the Core Ultra 9 285H chip and has 2TB of storage.

The IT15 is a solid choice for users seeking AI and creative performance in a mini PC form factor, offering better AI performance and improved integrated graphics compared to Meteor Lake peers, along with energy efficiency gains and a rich feature set. Geekmom has provided a promo code ITPROIT15 for a 10% discount until August 31st.

While the Geekom IT15 offers a rich feature set for creative tasks, it's important to consider the cooling system, which can struggle under heavy loads. In addition, this compact device houses impressive technology, including gadgets like the integrated Intel Arc 140T GPU, supporting advanced features like ray tracing and AI acceleration. The infrastructure of the IT15 also includes a variety of connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring seamless wireless connectivity.
