Custom BMW M2 CS Receives Boost in Power from Independent Tune-Up Specialist
In the world of high-performance cars, BMW's M2 has received an exciting makeover, thanks to two renowned companies - Manthey Racing and dAHLer.
Manthey Racing, a Swiss firm, has developed an upgrade kit for the compact M car from BMW. This kit significantly boosts the 3.0-liter turbo engine's power output to an impressive 638 horsepower and a maximum torque of 780 Nm (575 lb-ft). The M2, with this upgrade, transforms into a true powerhouse, ready to challenge the limits of speed.
Meanwhile, dAHLer offers an upgrade kit for the standard M2, providing a more affordable alternative. The Stage 2 kit enhances the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, achieving similar power and torque figures as the Manthey Racing upgrade.
The upgraded M2 is not just about raw power; it's also about style. Carbon fiber extends to the vented front fenders, and a new stainless steel exhaust system with quad tips measuring 100 or 108 millimeters in diameter adorns the back of the car. The exhaust system comes with a bi-flap setup and a ceramic-coated matte black finish, producing a soundtrack that matches the car's newfound aggression.
The wider body package is another key feature of the upgraded M2. It includes a front spoiler add-on, a large rear wing, a carbon kidney grille, and a matching rear diffuser, giving the car a more imposing presence on the road.
Weight reduction is a focus in the upgraded M2, with a carbon fiber hood being fitted. The M2, after the dAHLer upgrade, is equipped with 21-inch forged wheels and tires with dimensions 275/25 front and 305/25 rear.
The ride height of the upgraded M2 is lowered by 28 millimeters (1.1 inches) at the front and 20 millimeters (0.8 inches) at the rear, ensuring a lower centre of gravity for better handling. For improved handling and stopping power, dAHLer offers a four-way adjustable coilover suspension and uprated brake pads as optional upgrades.
The M2's starting price in the United States is approximately $100,000, and €115,000 in Germany. A CSL model, offering an even more extreme driving experience, is a potential future offering from BMW.
In addition, dAHLer offers a carbon fiber vented front fender upgrade for the M2, further enhancing its aggressive look. The xDrive version of the M2 is expected to be released next year, offering all-wheel-drive capabilities for those who seek even more control on the road.
With these upgrades, the M2, after the dAHLer upgrade, can reach speeds beyond 186 mph (300 km/h) due to the removal of the electronic top-speed limiter. It's clear that the upgraded M2 is a force to be reckoned with, combining power, style, and performance in one compact package.
