Dacia Unveils Affordable Electric 'Hipster' EV for Urban Mobility

Dacia has unveiled the Hipster, a compact electric vehicle designed for affordable urban mobility. This two-box design EV is a blend of Suzuki Jimny and Land Rover Defender aesthetics, and it's set to be significantly cheaper than the successor of the current Dacia Spring.

The Hipster, developed in collaboration with Dacia's design teams, was first showcased in Paris. It's designed as an L7 vehicle, which means it has performance and weight limits but fewer crash and equipment requirements. This results in a lighter vehicle, with a curb weight of up to 450 kg without the battery.

Powered by an electric motor, the Hipster boasts a power output of up to 15 kW/20 PS. Its top speed is limited to 90 km/h, making it ideal for city driving. Despite its compact size, the Hipster is expected to be a practical choice for urban commuters, offering a blend of style and affordability.
