Delivery of Leapmotor's C10 SUV commences in the Chinese market
Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker Leapmotor has launched its first global model, the C10, on March 2nd. Delivery ceremonies for the C10 were held in cities including Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, but the exact number of first deliveries was not disclosed.
The C10 is part of the C-series models and is available in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions. The BEV has four versions with starting prices of RMB 128,800, RMB 138,800, RMB 148,800, and RMB 168,800 respectively, while the EREV has three versions with starting prices of RMB 135,800, RMB 145,800, and RMB 165,800 respectively.
The C10 is a five-seat SUV that boasts a spacious boot capacity of 546 liters with seats up and 1375 liters folded. It also features a 2.1 m² fixed panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade and 26 versatile storage spaces.
In terms of powertrain, the BEV offers rear-wheel drive (RWD) with 160 kW (215 hp) and 320 Nm torque. The EREV combines a 28.4 kWh battery with a 1.5L petrol engine, expanding charging flexibility and range options.
The C10 also offers advanced connectivity features, including a 14.6-inch high-definition central touchscreen with built-in navigation, 10.25-inch driver instrument display, seamless Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, smartphone integration, NFC smartphone key, and the Leapmotor app. It also supports Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates.
Safety and driver assistance are key features of the C10, with the LEAP Pilot intelligent driver assistance system equipped with 12 high-precision ADAS sensors and 17 advanced driver assistance functions. This system is supported by Leapmotor’s advanced Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) battery integration architecture for greater rigidity and safety.
The C10 also offers premium features such as eco-leather seats certified by OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, heated and ventilated front seats, foot-activated electric tailgate, and comfortable seats with options for a softer silicon-blended upholstery in higher trims.
Leapmotor is offering a comprehensive warranty with the C10, including a 7-year/160,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty.
The Leapmotor C10 will be sold in overseas markets starting in the third quarter of this year, including Australia, the UK, and China. It is positioned as a competitively priced family SUV with advanced technology and practical features. In Australia, the EV variant starts at around AU$45,888, with options such as premium paint for an additional AU$990.
