Vijayapura Cyber Economic and Narcotics (CEN) Crime Police Uncover Major Online Fraud Cases

The Vijayapura Cyber Economic and Narcotics (CEN) Crime Police have been actively investigating several online fraud cases, recovering substantial amounts of money and apprehending suspects involved in various scams.

In a significant development, the police arrested eight suspects in the Capitalix trading app case and recovered Rs 68.25 lakh. Similarly, a businessman was misled into investing Rs 2 crore in The Octa Trading App, with officials identifying the suspects and recovering a portion of the stolen money.

The investigation team, led by DySP Sunil Kamble and Inspector Ramesh Awaji, also busted a fake MBBS admission scam, with a family losing Rs 39.65 lakh under false pretenses. So far, the police have recovered Rs 26.5 lakh from the accused in this case.

Another notable fraud case involved the railway department position scam, with Sikandar Mohammad Basargi from Babalashewar identified as the mastermind and arrested, along with Rs 45 lakh recovered.

The investigations were supervised by Superintendent of Police Laxman B Nimbargi, along with Additional SPs Shankar Marihal and Ramanagouda Hatti.
