Development priorities in digitalization, energy, transportation, and tourism identified by the leader of Yakutia
Aisen Nikolaev, Head of Yakutia, addressed a meeting of the Council of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on March 27, emphasising the importance of implementing strategic decrees and digitising municipal services as top priorities for the region's development.
The meeting discussed the tasks of local self-government bodies in implementing the Head of RS (Y) decree 'On the main directions of the state policy of RS (Y) in the Arctic zone of RS (Y) until 2030' and the decree 'On the ecological well-being of RS (Y) until 2030'. No new timelines or deadlines were provided for these tasks.
Digitising municipal services was discussed as a key element of improving the quality of life of the republic's population. Aisen Nikolaev emphasised the importance of preparing the necessary documentation for these applications.
The republic's government is currently accepting applications for participation in various programs, including the program of support for local initiatives for the next year. The individuals approved for participation in these programs have not been explicitly named, but programs available for support in 2026 include 'Zukunftswege Ost' microgrants, Hessen's 'STARKES DORF+', the Bavarian Innovation Award for Volunteerism, and the 'Vor Ort vereint' program. Additionally, the ESF Plus program 'Akti(F) Plus' offers substantial funding for projects supporting families at risk of social exclusion, but applications must be submitted by May 15, 2025. These programs support individuals, associations, and initiatives contributing to social cohesion and democracy.
Aisen Nikolaev stated that implementing the strategic decrees of the head of the republic and digitization are top priorities for all municipalities. He also addressed additional issues that require immediate attention, including timely applications for social and infrastructure facility construction.
The solution to these tasks will determine how quickly the republic will progress in its social and economic development and improve the quality of life of its people. Two more strategic decrees will be issued in the coming days, one on the further development of the energy and transport systems and one on the development of local production and tourism in the republic. However, no new strategic decrees were mentioned in this paragraph.
The focus remains on the implementation of the current decrees of the head of the republic. No new tasks for local self-government bodies were mentioned in this paragraph. The press service of the head and government of Yakutia reported these developments.
