Devoted MMORPG enthusiast has amassed a staggering 193 rare pet beavers, elusive due to a minute 0.001% drop rate, barely seen by most gamers - relentless pursuit fuelled by the motto: "At least I'm not shelling out cash on Twitter"

In the world of Old School RuneScape (OSRS), one player has captured the attention of the community with an unusual yet captivating passion - West Stairs. Known for their dedication and persistence, West Stairs has made a name for themselves by collecting an extraordinary number of beaver pets.

West Stairs' in-game Collection Log shows that they have obtained exactly one pet: the beaver. However, this isn't the whole story. Since early 2023, West Stairs has received approximately 193 to 194 beaver pets as drops, including duplicates. Due to the game's limit of one pet per player, these extras simply disappear or go into the ether.

The challenge lies in the extremely low drop rate for the beaver pet. With a base chance of 1 in 72,321 logs chopped, even with a 15x drop rate boost from maxing out Woodcutting XP at 200 million, the chance remains a mere 0.00138%. Yet, West Stairs continues to grind, driven by a passion for the challenge and an obsession with this rare pet.

This unique goal has turned West Stairs into a recognisable figure within the OSRS community. Their dedication and persistence in obtaining the beaver pet has earned them notoriety, setting them apart from other players.

West Stairs currently holds a permanent 447 ranking on the high scores in OSRS, and has reached the maximum Woodcutting experience cap of 200 million. Despite the countless hours spent chopping logs, the exact number of hours West Stairs has dedicated to this pursuit remains unknown.

In a Twitter exchange, a subscriber questioned West Stairs about their dedication, to which they responded that they do not pay for Twitter. As for their future plans, West Stairs has not confirmed if they are aiming to max the beaver collection log, which is said to cap out at 250. However, their stated goal remains clear: to collect more beavers.

In another MMO game, West Stairs has caught 944,143 fish, potentially making them one of the best fishermen in MMO history. With 106 unique items in their Collection Log, West Stairs has more beavers than items, further emphasising their unique obsession.

In the words of West Stairs, "We're all just pressing buttons... I just choose to press mine to fish." This statement, attributed to them in an unknown MMO game, encapsulates their dedication and unique approach to gaming.
