Diablo 4's Paladin character could potentially be in development, as per fans' long-standing demands - discover the reasons fueling this speculation

Diablo 4 fans may be in for a treat as leaked internal builds hint at the potential inclusion of a highly requested class – the Paladin. The evidence comes from a build named "2.5.Xpaladin.67961" discovered on Blizzard's servers, although there is no official confirmation yet from the game developers [1][2][3][5].

The Paladin, a fan favourite from Diablo 2, has been a popular demand among the Diablo community for the past three years. While previous comments from the Diablo team acknowledged the demand for sword-and-board gameplay, they have emphasized innovation over nostalgia in initial class choices [4].

If the Paladin does indeed make an appearance in Diablo 4, it could potentially launch during a major seasonal update such as Season 11 or Patch 2.5. The game, which initially launched with five classes, plus the Spiritborn added after release, is expected to introduce a new armor type, Chaos Armor, to shake up the itemization [6].

Each class in Diablo 4 will have 16 perks, including 4 class-specific ones. For instance, the Barbarian class will have all shouts permanently active with buffs, but reduce max Fury, while the Sorcerer class will have 99% reduced max life but damage hits mana before health (Mana Shield) [7].

Meanwhile, Diablo Partners have been making posts and taking photos related to Diablo 4 changes. The Season 10 reveal for Diablo 4, including content and Q&A, was recently dropped alongside patch notes. Seasonal Powers in Diablo 4 are being renamed to Perks and are designed to be genuinely build defining [8].

One such perk is the Bronn Over Brains, which boosts life, healing, and overpower damage significantly, but reduces max resistances and armor damage reduction to 60%. Another interesting perk is Unstable Power, which makes basic skills always crit and overpower but has a 3-second cooldown [9].

As the Diablo 4 Public Test Realm (PTR) for Season 11’s Chaos theme becomes available from August 19 to August 26, players will have a week to test the season’s theme without the Paladin class [2]. Gamescom is expected to have something playable from Diablo 4 next week [10].

Until Blizzard makes a formal statement, this remains an informed but unconfirmed expectation. Fans will eagerly await the official announcement, which could potentially bring a new dimension to the gameplay of Diablo 4.
