Display-Equipped Facebook Group Showcases Innovative Glass Design - Display-equipped Facebook group unveils glasses innovation
The tech company Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has made a significant stride in the wearable tech sector with the launch of its Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses. The glasses, which were unveiled at the end of September 2025, are now available in the United States, priced starting at $799.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display integrates a display into one of the lenses, enabling users to view text messages, photos, and videos, among other things. The display, located in the right lens, boasts a resolution of 600 by 600 pixels.
Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, demonstrated the control of the device during a live event. He was seen writing letters on a surface with his fingers, which were then converted into words in a text message using a wristband. This wristband, developed for control, is capable of detecting even the smallest movements.
However, the demonstration was not without its issues. During the presentation, Zuckerberg struggled to answer a video call on the display glasses, and a live demo using the glasses for AI guidance in cooking experienced problems, with the software moving on to the next steps prematurely.
The glasses worn by Zuckerberg on stage at the Meta Connect conference are bulkier than typical frames, with noticeably thicker temples. Despite these aesthetics, the glasses are claimed to offer a battery life of up to six hours.
While the Meta Ray-Ban Display has made its debut in the United States, no information about international availability has been provided. It's worth noting that Meta is developing the software for its glasses to interact with artificial intelligence in daily life, allowing the software to see what the user sees and gain context.
In the realm of smart glasses, Meta is not alone. Reports suggest that Apple has been working on similar technology for years, but has only released a headset with camera capabilities. As the race for the next generation of wearable technology heats up, it will be interesting to see how these innovations evolve and impact our daily lives.
