DJI Power 1000 V2 Unveiled: A Powerful and Portable Solution for Creators
The DJI Power 1000 V2, the latest addition to DJI's portable power station lineup, has been released and is now available for purchase at Amazon for £499. This compact powerhouse offers numerous improvements over its predecessor, making it an appealing choice for content creators, field users, and professionals.
The V2 boasts a faster charging performance, capable of charging from 0 to 80% in just 37 minutes and reaching full recharge in 56 minutes. This is a significant improvement over the original Power 1000, which took approximately 70 minutes to fully recharge.
In terms of power output, the V2 delivers up to 2600W, outperforming the original model and many competitors. This makes it an ideal companion for high-power equipment in various settings.
The V2 also features advanced safety and durability enhancements. It sports a hardened Battery Management System (BMS) with “potting” protection around the inverter for enhanced toughness. Additionally, it has an expanded altitude tolerance of up to 5,000 meters, making it suitable for use in high-altitude environments.
The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) switchover has been improved, halving the response time to 10 milliseconds (0.01 seconds). This doubles the uptime reliability over the original unit.
The V2 also integrates smarter control via the DJI Home app, allowing better management and monitoring of the power station. Unlike the original model, which required an additional accessory for app functionality, the V2 offers this feature out of the box.
The V2's battery retains over 80% capacity after 4,000 charge cycles, surpassing the original’s 70% lifespan benchmark. This ensures long-term reliability for frequent users.
Other features include built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for remote monitoring, two USB-C ports providing 140W Power Delivery suitable for high-end laptops, and modular expandability supporting up to five 2048 Wh expansion batteries for total extended capacity over 11 kWh.
Weighing about 14.2 kg, the V2 is slightly heavier than its predecessor due to its reinforced internals, but its enhanced build quality and portability make it a valuable asset for those needing reliable power on the go.
With its faster charging, higher AC output power, advanced safety and durability features, improved UPS switchover speed, smarter app-based control, greater battery longevity, wireless connectivity, upgraded USB-C ports, and modular expandability, the Power 1000 V2 is a notable upgrade over the original model.
