DJI Neo triple battery pack is currently available at Amazon (for the moment)
The U.S. market is bracing for a potential ban on DJI drones, scheduled to take effect on December 23, 2025. This ban is a result of the U.S. National Security Agency failing to complete a formal security audit of DJI drones by the stated date, as mandated by Section 1709 of the fiscal year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
If the audit is not completed, a halt on new DJI drone imports and sales in the U.S. will occur after the deadline. Existing DJI drones will remain usable, but firmware updates, spare parts, and future FCC approvals might become unavailable. The looming ban has already caused prices of DJI drones, especially professional models, to skyrocket due to scarcity and uncertainty, severely impacting independent filmmakers and aerial cinematographers.
The ban could extend beyond drones to DJI cameras and gimbals, such as Osmo and Ronin. Currently, stock shortages are being reported for the DJI Mini 3 battery combo, with occasional sales and deals still appearing on platforms like Amazon. The DJI Neo three-battery combo, which includes the DJI Neo drone, three batteries, propeller guards, and additional accessories, is part of this broader constrained supply environment.
The DJI Neo drone, a super portable and user-friendly device with features such as stable subject tracking, voice control, and palm takeoffs, records in 4K UHD. As of Aug. 13, the DJI Neo three-battery combo is in stock at Amazon for $289. However, availability is uncertain and likely limited in the U.S. market.
The supply of DJI drones has largely dried up at major retailers like DJI, Target, and Best Buy, due to the potential ban and the resulting uncertainty. No further information about the potential ban's impact on the DJI Neo three-battery combo is provided at this time. The ban is a result of trade relation and security issues.
