Dubai Air Navigation Services First in UAE to Get U-Space Service Provider Certification
Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first organisation in the UAE to receive the USPS Service Provider (USSP) certificate from the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). This certification is a key step in implementing national UAS regulation and reflects the GCAA's commitment to operational excellence.
The certification follows the GCAA's introduction of national regulations for approving UAS service providers earlier this year. It highlights the UAE's growing digital infrastructure and its ambition to lead in smart air mobility. Ibrahim Ahli, CEO of dans, described the certification as a milestone achievement, a result of close coordination with the GCAA.
The USSP certificate was awarded after dans partnered with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) and ANRA Technologies to create a comprehensive platform for managing unmanned aircraft traffic. This platform integrates radar, weather data, and aeronautical information, enabling immediate flight approvals and enhancing conflict detection. It also prepares for future urban air mobility operations.
The UAE's move aims to support innovation in air mobility while ensuring safety and efficiency, in line with global standards. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, stated that the certification is a testament to the authority's commitment to operational excellence.
Dans, in collaboration with DAEP and ANRA Technologies, has set a new standard in the UAE's air bnb traffic management. The USSP certificate signals the UAE's progress in smart air mobility and its commitment to safe, efficient, and innovative airbnb operations.
