Electric bus unveiled by our organization in collaboration with Pepper, featuring solar technology integration.

In a significant stride towards a greener future, Sono Group N.V. and pepper motion GmbH have unveiled the first electric bus equipped with solar technology on the streets of Munich. This collaboration marks a new milestone in Sono Group's mission to revolutionise mobility by making every vehicle solar-powered.

The solar technology developed by Sono Group is designed to be climate-friendly, extending the range and reducing fuel costs, as well as the impact of CO2 emissions. The technology is engineered to be seamlessly integrated into a variety of vehicle architectures, making it suitable for third-party OEM cars, buses, refrigerated vehicles, and recreational vehicles.

The solar charge controller, developed in-house by Sono Group, transfers the solar energy to the 24-volt battery. When the solar energy supply is insufficient, the e-bus' DC/DC charger takes over energy supply. This solar bus kit, installed on an electrified Mercedes-Benz Citaro, contains 14 semi-flexible solar modules.

Pepper motion GmbH, a software development centre based in Vienna, plays a crucial role in this project. With headquarters in Denkendorf and offices in Garching near Munich and Paderborn, pepper motion employs over 100 people. Pepper is an international OEM for the electrification (repowering) of used and new vehicles, ensuring operational safety according to international automotive industry standards.

The test phase for this project will last for two years across Europe. Pepper is represented with further sales partners in Italy, France, and Poland. The energy generated by this installation is expected to be 3.3 kWh/day on average based on weather conditions in Munich.

While the search results do not provide direct information about the partnership between Sono Group and pepper motion GmbH, this project underscores their shared commitment to a sustainable future. The partnership is a testament to their joint efforts towards integrating solar technology into vehicles, a step closer to Sono Group's vision of solar energy on every vehicle.

Sono Group N.V.'s solar technology is traded on the OTCQB under the symbol SEVCF. As the world continues to grapple with climate change, innovations like this solar-powered electric bus offer a glimmer of hope for a greener, more sustainable future.
