Electric Cooling Devices Rollout by MTTE in 2025 for Distribution and Transport Purposes

At the NUFAM 2025 event in Karlsruhe, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Transport Europe GmbH (MTTE) showcased its latest innovations in transport refrigeration units, focusing on emission-free, fully electric technology. The company presented two new models, the TEU and TEF 1500, designed for companies modernizing their cooling fleets [2].

One of the key highlights is the vollelektrisches Mitsubishi-TEF1500-Kühlaggregat, which replaces the diesel engine and operates on environmentally friendly energy sources such as battery power, solar panels mounted on the trailer, and an energy recovery axle [1]. This combination makes it a true zero-emission solution, often referred to as a "Powered Trailer" or "e-Reefer" [1].

In collaboration with TIP Group and SolarEdge e-Mobility, this electric cooling trailer concept has been developed and is currently being rented to customers like Zippel Fresh for real-world daily use tests. The insights gathered from these tests will be used to optimize the technology further [1].

The new TEU underfloor refrigeration unit for trucks and the fully electric trailer refrigeration unit TEF 1500 are making their debut at the trade show. These units target transport companies that are aiming to decarbonize their fleets while maintaining operational capability in urban areas [1][2].

MTTE's focus on zero-emission transport solutions aligns with the themes at NUFAM 2025, which include digitization and training, hydrogen propulsion, and urban and regional distribution traffic [3]. The event also features a new outdoor area, digital preview, and special exhibition on hydrogen propulsion.

In addition to the two trade show premieres, MTTE is presenting the complete Preciso product range of fully electric refrigeration units [2]. The company is increasing its focus on electrifying all equipment classes in Europe and expanding its service network and product availability [4].
