Electric Motorcycle from Ola Powered Up, Reveals Fresh Info

In a significant move, Ola Electric, the leading electric two-wheeler brand in India, has announced its foray into the motorcycle segment. The first Ola electric motorcycle, designed as a commuter bike, is set to cater to a different market segment compared to the electric scooters previously offered by the company.

The new motorcycle features a twin projector headlight, reminiscent of the one on the Ola S1 series, but with a unique twist. Unlike the Ola scooters, the motorcycle does not have a full LED DRL ring. Instead, it boasts a single LED DRL line above the headlight, a design element that sets it apart from its scooter counterparts.

One of the most noticeable differences between the Ola electric motorcycle and the Ola S1 series is the design of the large tank shrouds. These shrouds, which overlap the headlight, are visibly larger and sport a new design that is not repeated in the design of the Ola S1 series headlight. This design change adds a distinct character to the motorcycle, making it stand out.

While there is no public information available about the Initial Public Offering (IPO) date for this motorcycle or the involved companies, it is worth noting that Ola Electric's IPO is scheduled to go live in August.

Royal Enfield, another prominent name in the Indian motorcycle industry, is also making strides in the electric motorcycle market. In collaboration with the Spanish startup Stark Future, they are developing the Royal Enfield Him-E, which is based on Stark's advanced electric technology. This partnership was established in late 2022 when Eicher Motors invested $50 million in Stark.

As the electric vehicle market continues to grow, it will be interesting to see how these developments shape the future of motorcycling in India. With Ola Electric's entry into the motorcycle segment and Royal Enfield's foray into electric motorcycles, the competition is set to heat up. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting developments.
