Emmy Nominations Announced: Fallout, X-Men '97, What We Do in the Shadows Make the List
Streaming into the Emmy Awards this year, genre shows are steppin' up their game!
"Fallout," "What We Do in the Shadows," and "X-Men '97" are making a splash in the drama, comedy, and animation categories, respectively.
In the drama category, "Fallout" faces some stiff competition from the likes of Netflix's "3 Body Problem," "The Crown," "The Gilded Age," "The Morning Show," "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," "Slow Horses," and "Shōgun."
In comedy, "What We Do in the Shadows" aims to take the crown against "Abbott Elementary," "The Bear," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Hacks," "Only Murders in the Building," "Palm Royale," and "Reservation Dogs."
Over in animation, "X-Men '97" is rockin' it alongside "Blue Eye Samurai," "Bob's Burgers," "Scavengers Reign," and "The Simpsons."
Walton Goggins scored a lead actor nomination for "Fallout," and while it's exciting, winning the award will be no easy feat - he's up against heavy hitters like Idris Elba in "Hijack," Donald Glover in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," Gary Oldman in "Slow Horses," Hiroyuki Sanada in "Shōgun," and Dominic West in "The Crown."
Meanwhile, Matt Berry also bagged a lead acting nomination for "What We Do in the Shadows," but his competition's looking just as tough - he's up against Larry David for "Curb Your Enthusiasm," Steve Martin and Martin Short for "Only Murders in the Building," Jeremy Allen White for "The Bear," and D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai for "Reservation Dogs."
