TotalEnergies ENEOS Commissions 680 kWp Rooftop Solar PV System at TechnipFMC's Johor Facility

In a significant stride towards a sustainable future, TotalEnergies ENEOS has successfully commissioned a 680 kWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at TechnipFMC's facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This project marks an important step in TechnipFMC's renewable energy transition and carbon footprint reduction efforts [2][3][4].

The solar installation, consisting of 1,100 solar modules, is expected to generate approximately 915 MWh of renewable electricity annually, powering around 20% of the factory’s energy needs. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for this project requires no upfront investment from TechnipFMC, making it a cost-effective solution for the company [2][3][4].

This collaboration between TotalEnergies ENEOS and TechnipFMC is a reflection of TechnipFMC's commitment to responsible operations and a sustainable future. Alberto Oliveira, Manufacturing Director - Nusajaya, TechnipFMC, expressed his pride in the renewable power initiative, stating, "By harnessing clean energy, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint and drive meaningful, lasting change for our communities."

TotalEnergies ENEOS, as TechnipFMC's preferred energy partner, fully funds, installs, operates, and maintains the solar system. The company is also working with key industry players towards a shared vision for a sustainable future. This project is part of TotalEnergies ENEOS’s broader strategy to provide clean energy solutions in Southeast Asia through long-term PPAs with industrial clients [2][3][4].

The 18-year PPA ensures long-term renewable energy supply stability for TechnipFMC’s Johor facility. The system capacity is 680 kilowatt-peak (kWp), meaning it can generate up to 680 kW under optimal conditions. This initiative underscores TotalEnergies ENEOS’s commitment to expanding rooftop solar capacity in industrial contexts through long-term power purchase contracts, aligning with global decarbonization trends.

While the exact contractual and financial details were not disclosed, the completion of this project marks a significant step toward corporate renewable energy adoption in Malaysia and the region. Moreover, the solar system helps TechnipFMC avoid approximately 500 tons of CO2 emissions each year, contributing to a more sustainable future.

The collaboration between TotalEnergies ENEOS and TechnipFMC in the renewable energy domain extends beyond Malaysia, as they also seek to implement similar environmental-science projects in the industry. As the solar project contributes to TechnipFMC's finance management by reducing energy costs, it is an example of how technology can foster economic growth and environmental conservation.
