ETIH Launches 2026 Innovation Awards Amidst Growing AI Skills Gap

The EdTech Innovation Hub (ETIH) has launched the Innovation Awards 2026, honouring excellence in global education technology. Meanwhile, a skills gap persists in Canada, where only 12 percent have received formal AI training despite 42 percent using AI tools at work.

Digital technology professionals express the most confidence in AI use, while 26 percent worry about job replacement. Growclass aims to bridge this gap with a new AI Marketing and Strategy Certification course. HR professionals, though most likely to use AI (81 percent), are least likely to have received training.

The ETIH Innovation Awards 2026, open to international organizations, focus on workforce development, AI integration, and innovative learning solutions. Entries are now open, with winners to be announced on 14 January 2026. Interestingly, 68 percent of Canadians would welcome AI training if offered by their employer.

The ETIH Innovation Awards 2026 celebrate global education technology advancements, highlighting the need for AI skills development. Growclass' new certification course and employer-provided training could help close the skills gap and alleviate job replacement concerns.
