Leapmotor, a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has unveiled details about its upcoming flagship model, the Leapmotor C10. This D-segment SUV is expected to make its debut at the Zurich Auto Show in October 2025 and go on sale in 2026.
The Leapmotor C10 is a mid-size to full-size electric vehicle, featuring a "cell-to-chassis" battery design that promises a spacious interior and excellent legroom. The seats in both the front and rear can recline for added comfort.
Under the hood, the Leapmotor C10 will be powered by an all-wheel-drive system that produces a power output of 436 kW. This variant, known as the Leapmotor C10 Design 81.9kWh AWD, can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds.
The battery size for the C10 is 81.9 kWh, and it boasts improved fast-charging technology. It can charge from 30% to 80% in 22 minutes, significantly faster than previous models that took 30 minutes to reach the same charge level.
In terms of display and infotainment, the Leapmotor C10 features a large 14.6-inch high-resolution touchscreen for navigation, climate control, and other settings. This is supported by a 10.25-inch driver display. However, it does not support Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
Safety is a top priority for the Leapmotor C10. It offers 17 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and has received a top Euro NCAP five-star crash safety rating.
The interior design of the Leapmotor C10 is minimalist, inspired by Tesla’s design approach, focusing on technology and infotainment. The UK pricing for the base model starts from around £36,490.
Leapmotor's founder and chairman, Zhu Jiangming, announced that the D-series models will go into mass production in the first quarter of next year. So far this year, Leapmotor has delivered 271,793 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 149.84 percent.
In addition to the Leapmotor C10, the company also has several other models available in China, including the T03, B10, B01, C01, C11, and C16. Two models from the D series are currently undergoing summer testing, with one being an SUV and the other an MPV.
Leapmotor is gearing up for its D-series models, aiming at higher-end markets. The exchange rate is currently $1 = RMB 7.1785, making the Leapmotor C10's price of around RMB 300,000 ($41,800) quite competitive in the premium EV market.
