Exploring the Architecture and Skills of Qualys' Agentic AI: A Deep Dive into Its Technological Framework and Abilities

In a groundbreaking move, Qualys has introduced the Agentic AI platform, a revolutionary solution designed to transform the way businesses manage risk and orchestrate their operations.

At the heart of this platform is the Global MCP Server Interface, serving as the primary entry point for external systems and integrations. It abstracts internal orchestration complexity, provides a secure and standardized integration interface, and ensures a seamless flow of data across the ecosystem.

The Agentic AI platform is modular, with each module functioning independently via dedicated agents. This plug-and-play support makes it easy to integrate new Qualys modules or third-party systems, expanding its capabilities and adaptability.

One of the key components of the platform is the Centralized Orchestrator/Coordinator Agent, acting as the command center of the entire ecosystem. It processes incoming requests, enriches goals using Qualys Knowledgebase when applicable, and manages workflow policies, prioritization, sequencing, and escalation.

The Design Flow Summary includes several stages: Trigger, Global MCP, Orchestrator, Planner Agent, Execution Agents, and Finalization. The Planner/Router Agent acts as the intelligent routing and planning layer after enrichment, interpreting the goal, determining participating product modules, planning the overall execution strategy, and handing off planning and execution to module-specific Planner and Action Agents.

Action Agent, per module, executes the workflow steps defined by the Planner Agent, ensuring execution success and handling any failures. Data Agent, per module, retrieves and aggregates relevant data from Qualys APIs, telemetry, and external sources, providing accurate and contextual data for planning and execution.

The Agentic AI architecture also incorporates Custom Helper Agents, allowing for tailored workflows and outputs, and Helper Agent (Per Module), which supports auxiliary tasks such as reporting, notifications, logging, and recovery, enabling extensibility without affecting core execution.

Intelligent Decision Support, a self-learning analytical engine in Agentic AI, adapts to emerging threats and shifting business needs. Advanced AI algorithms enable the system to learn from past incidents, adapt to new risks, and surface the most contextually relevant recommendations.

Autonomous Response, a cornerstone of the Qualys ecosystem, translates into continuous monitoring of vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and suspicious behavior, paired with automated, intelligent mitigation. This enhances an organization's ability to detect, prioritize, and remediate threats in real time without human intervention.

The Agentic AI platform also democratizes access to security data, eliminates data silos, and accelerates decision-making through features like Natural Language Query (NLQ). This allows users to query complex security datasets using conversational language.

Qualys Enterprise TruRisk Management, featuring the Agentic AI platform, is now available for sign-up, offering a preview of its innovative capabilities like the marketplace of ready-to-use agents and the Cyber Risk Assistant. The platform is designed to transform the way businesses manage risk, enabling faster, data-driven actions and seamless operational readiness.
