First Hydrogen-Powered Renault Master Van Wins Trophy in France, Making History for Hydrogen Vehicles
The Renault Master Van H2-TECH, a groundbreaking vehicle developed in collaboration with Hyvia, has been awarded the prestigious title of Heavy Commercial Vehicle of the Year at the Millésime 2023 Trophies ceremony. This recognition marks a significant step forward in the development of hydrogen mobility solutions.
The award ceremony, held on 12 July at the Parc de Saint Cloud in Paris, France, honoured the efforts made by the Hyvia team in the field of hydrogen mobility. The Renault Master Van H2-TECH, a key part of Hyvia's unique and complete hydrogen mobility ecosystem, was coupled with a 33 kWh battery and powered by hydrogen, equipped with a 30 kW fuel cell technology.
The electric motor of the Renault Master Van H2-TECH boasts a power of 57 kW, and the vehicle offers a load volume of 12 meters for transporting goods and packages. One of the standout features of the Renault Master Van H2-TECH is its optimum refueling time of just 5 minutes, making it an efficient choice for businesses and local authorities looking to maintain competitive operations with a zero-emission vehicle.
The Renault Master Van H2-TECH also boasts an impressive internal height of 1.80 meters, allowing for standing upright inside, and a range of up to 400 km. This versatile vehicle is a part of a planned series of light commercial vehicles from Renault in Europe, and Hyvia is directly involved in the development of the Renault Master H2-Tech, supplying a hydrogen filling station alongside the vehicle.
Mehdi Ferhan, COO of Hyvia, expressed gratitude for the award, stating that being a pioneer of hydrogen mobility involves working with the whole hydrogen industry in Europe. He further mentioned that the first trophy in France is a significant milestone for the Hyvia teams developing the Renault Master Van H2-TECH.
The win signifies a major achievement for the hydrogen mobility sector, as the Renault Master Van H2-TECH is expanding the possibilities of zero-emission transportation. Mehdi Ferhan also expressed that the award is a great encouragement for the team's progress in hydrogen mobility, and they look forward to continuing their work in this exciting field.
