Four Major Wind Projects to Boost Vietnam's Renewable Energy Capacity
Four wind power projects, developed by REE Corp and TTVN Group, are underway in Vinh Long, Vietnam. With a combined capacity of 224 MW and an investment exceeding VND11,284 billion ($426.98 million), these projects aim to supply around 718 million kWh of electricity annually to the national grid.
The projects, expected to achieve commercial operation in Q4/2026, include the V1-2 Expansion project and V1-3 Wind Power Plant (Phase 2), each with a capacity of 48 MW and investments of VND2,392 billion ($90.51 million) and VND2,257 billion ($85.4 million) respectively. The Dong Hai 3 Wind Power Project, developed by Dong Hai 3 Wind Power JSC, has a capacity of 48 MW and an investment of VND2,771 billion ($104.85 million). The V1-5 and V1-6 (Phase 2) wind farms, with a total capacity of 80 MW, have a combined investment of VND3,864 billion ($146.21 million). These projects are expected to create approximately 400 jobs during construction and 100 jobs during operation, also contributing an estimated VND115 billion ($4.35 million) annually to the provincial budget.
Upon completion, these wind power projects will significantly boost Vietnam's renewable energy capacity, providing clean electricity and stimulating local economic growth.
