Gaming soundbar company, Audioscenic, debuts first "reference model" design for immersive audio experiences.
In a groundbreaking collaboration, UK-based audio technology innovator Audioscenic has joined forces with Philips and semiconductor solutions leader NXP Semiconductors to introduce the world's first reference design for gaming soundbars. Dubbed the Amphi Hi-D gaming soundbar, this innovative technology integrates Audioscenic's AI-driven spatial audio and Philips' acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) technology to deliver a fully immersive gaming audio experience, complete with crystal-clear voice chat.
The Amphi Hi-D gaming soundbar is powered by NXP's i.MX 8M Mini applications processor, enabling soundbar manufacturers to produce immersive, location-accurate game audio in sync with pristine voice chat. This dual-function soundbar made its public debut at Computex Taipei 2025, held from May 19-May 23.
Philips' BeClear technology is at the heart of this development, ensuring gamers can enjoy immersive sound and clear voice communication simultaneously. By preventing speaker sounds from being picked up and relayed through microphones, it enhances the gaming experience by eliminating echo and background noise.
Similarly, NXP's i.MX 8M Mini offers the processing power and speed required to simultanously handle the complex audio tasks of both Audioscenic's AI-driven spatial audio and Philips BeClear AEC. This collaboration showcases the capabilities of NXP's i.MX 8M family of SoCs, making it possible to seamlessly integrate these cutting-edge technologies within a compact soundbar.
Marcos Simon, CTO and co-founder of Audioscenic, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating that the time had come for the game voice chat experience to advance. By working with global tech leaders Philips and NXP, Audioscenic has been able to develop an innovative proof-of-concept that unpacks the cluster of game audio and voice, providing remarkable immersive sound and voice clarity without the distraction of noise and echoes.
Audioscenic's CTO, Marcos Simon, highlighted the collaboration's significance, stating that it marks a turning point in the game voice chat experience. This partnership between Audioscenic, Philips, and NXP Semiconductors has resulted in the development of a proof-of-concept, integrating Audioscenic's AI-driven spatial audio, Philips' BeClear technology, and NXP's i.MX 8M Mini applications processor. This innovative technology, the Amphi Hi-D gaming soundbar, showcases the seamless integration of advanced audio gadgets and technology for a fully immersive and noise-free gaming audio experience.
