Gate Technology Secures EU MiCA License, Opens Doors to 450M Residents

Gate Technology Ltd has secured a significant regulatory milestone, obtaining a MiCA license from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). This approval aligns the company's operations with the European Union's new Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), opening doors to a market of over 450 million residents.

Dr. Lin Han, founder of Gate Group, stressed the importance of operating with explicit regulatory approval for the firm's long-term objectives across Europe. The license, secured on September 1, 2025, enables Gate Technology to offer exchange and custody services throughout the EU. This move places Gate Technology among over 50 exchanges that have gained MiCA approval, with more than 60 new applicants still seeking compliance status.

Gate Technology Ltd plans to initiate the passporting process, allowing it to expand compliant operations across all European countries under a unified regulatory framework. Malta serves as the strategic entry point for these passporting operations, facilitating access to the entire European market. Gate Group's operations now align with the MiCA framework, which covers over 50 licensed exchanges and continues to grow.

Gate Technology Ltd joins prominent crypto exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, Bitpanda, Bitvavo, eToro, Crypto.com, Bybit, and OKX in securing MiCA licenses in 2025. With this approval, Gate Technology is well-positioned to provide compliant services to the EU's vast market, marking a significant step forward in the company's European expansion strategy.
