Gathering deliberates on a hydrogen-based economy in northern Germany

Hamburg, a city renowned for its maritime and industrial might, is poised to become a leader in the green hydrogen economy. International experts agree that the city's conditions are ideal for this transition, as highlighted in a series of articles on www.hk24.de and future.hamburg/green-hydrogen-metropolis.

On June 15, 2021, the Chamber of Commerce North and Hydrogen Society Hamburg will host the "International Hydrogen Symposium," part of the North German Hydrogen Week from June 12 to 20, 2021. This event promises to be a significant step towards advancing hydrogen technology for market use.

Industrial experts such as Nicole Dreyer-Langlet, Stefan Dohler, Oliver Weinmann, Joachim Heider, Thomas Wintrich, Veronika Grimm, Norbert Barthle, Kristina Vogt, and Michael Westhagemann will provide insights into industrial hydrogen applications. Speakers from around the world, including Darion Akins, Stijn van Els, Martina Wettin, Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, and Max Correa, will also be present.

The symposium aims to discuss strategic implementation involving industry, science, politics, and society through networking and joint strategies. The next steps focus on addressing key challenges in production, storage, and transport of hydrogen, requiring solutions such as increasing industry collaboration and leveraging regional advantages like Hamburg's industrial concentration and trans-European transport links.

Recent funding of 520 million euros for green hydrogen projects in the Hamburg metropolitan region underscores the city's commitment to this transition. Another conference related to hydrogen production and industrial use, the "Future Hamburg Talk," is also scheduled.

The "International Hydrogen Symposium" offers a unique opportunity for individual encounters and networking. Registration for the event is free at www.h2symposium.de. Join us in Hamburg as we embark on a green future with innovative hydrogen projects.
