Global Wind Platform Creator based in the USA Reveals Request for Information to Fabricators Globally

Global company specializing in offshore wind technology seeks proposals from international fabricators for the development of floating wind platforms in the United States.

Aikido Technologies' groundbreaking 15 MW "AO60" floating wind platform has taken a significant step forward in its development, as the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has issued a statement of maturity for the innovative platform.

The ABS's statement is a testament to the maturity and readiness of Aikido's floating wind platform, signifying that it has reached a level of technological maturity that is suitable for commercial deployment. This milestone could pave the way for larger-scale production and deployment of Aikido's floating wind platform.

The AO60 platform consists of thirteen modular steel components, including columns and trusses, which can be fabricated at existing offshore wind or steel manufacturing facilities. Aikido Technologies has released a Request for Information (RFI) to more than ten top-tier fabricators from around the world, seeking capabilities for fabricating these components.

The qualification by ABS could potentially attract more investors and partners for Aikido Technologies, as well as increase confidence in the technology among industry stakeholders. This could lead to increased investment in the floating wind industry as a whole.

Aikido Technologies has secured a spot at a Norwegian offshore demo site for the AO60 platform. The components for the project will be transported to a final assembly site near the Norwegian test centre. Once assembled, the platform can be completed in a matter of days at the final assembly site.

The AO60 platform will be one of the largest floating wind platforms constructed and deployed to date, according to the Marine Energy Test Centre (METCentre) in Norway, where it will be deployed in May 2027. This deployment will mark a significant achievement for Aikido Technologies and the floating wind industry as a whole.

The statement of maturity is the latest stage in new technology qualification, and it represents a major step forward for Aikido Technologies and the floating wind industry. With the AO60 platform now qualified as a mature technology by the American Bureau of Shipping, it is one step closer to commercial deployment and the future of renewable energy.
